Small Downtowns: Holly Michigan Post Fire Battle Alley and Holly Hotel

Today, we are in downtown Holly, Michigan filming another entry in our "Small downtowns" series. Unfortunately, as we drove into town to do some pre-filming scouting, we noticed that a good chunk of the town had caught fire at some point and burned a few buildings down. The fire started in Battle Alley, which is arguably the heart of downtown Holly. Battle Alley Arcade Antiques, the Historic Holly Hotel, Andy's Place, and the Moose Lodge were all damaged in the blaze. This ended up being a tragic turn of events that was unexpected. I had previously visited downtown Holly approximately three years ago and had fallen in love with this quaint little town. I was excited to drive out here to show this town to my wife and was caught by surprise to see that the fire had happened. Battle Alley is still accessible and some of the business located within are still open. My heart goes out to the people of Holly that have been affected by this tragedy and Holly is able to build back soon.
