Talking about Watering PH for San Pedro cactus . How the ph of water can affect the uptake of different nutrients. I love learning too !! I really appreciate any comments regarding your own personal experience with ph and fertilizer absorption!!! These are not facts , just my own personal experience and guesses ! I’m assuming that if I lower my waters ph then more nitrogen will become available and these cactus will grow healthier. Right now these cacti have yellowish colored tips . After watering these cactos with a lower ph water and adding some simple nitrogen I’m hoping they will green back up . I’ll be adding some fish emulsion, some guano , and some aloe vera to my water . We will see if this helps these cacto gain their vibrant colors and stops the yellowing cactus tips . Aloe can lower the ph of your water and improve water retention along with acting as a surfactant . These cacti have only received plain well water at 8.0 ph for the entire month of June and now that the heat of summer has set in they seem to be lacking their luster ! I think it’s time to feed ….. let’s see what some quality organic plant food will do to these guys !! The cactus shown here are mostly trichocereus .
