It is not a sine bar (although it is not pretending to be), maybe one could call it a cosine bar or a tangent bar. Either way it does the same thing, just quicker cheaper and a bit less (but still very) accurately. That being setting up angles. Don't get me wrong, nothing beats a well made sine bar for setting precise angles, but sine bars, or more accurately the gauge block sets that go along with them are very expensive, and I could not justify buying them..... yet. I am more of a draw a line with a protractor kind of guy, but when I saw a design for a quick set up sine/cosine bar I jumped at the opportunity to try and see if I could make it work. I am not expecting sine bar accuracy, but anything below 1/2 a degree and I will be happy. #machining #diy Timestamps 0:00 - Intro 0:54 - I Need A Design 3:00 - The Design, Tools and Materials 5:12 - The Base 8:31 - Moving Pin Assembly 13:38 - Swing Arm 18:38 - Washers and Pin 20:11 - Assembly and Test
