In this video, we explore the amazing world of Slime Moulds – the strange organisms that behave like both fungi and protozoa! 🌱🧫 Slime moulds belong to Kingdom Protista and usually grow on decaying leaves and wood. Under favourable conditions, they form a moving mass called plasmodium, which spreads over surfaces and feeds on microorganisms. But when conditions become unfavourable, they form sporangia that produce spores. These spores are dispersed by air and help in reproduction. Even though they look like fungi, slime moulds are not true fungi. Their unique life cycle makes them very interesting for biology students, especially for Class 11 Biological Classification chapter. Watch the full video to understand: • What is plasmodium? • How slime moulds reproduce • Favourable vs unfavourable conditions • Why they are called fungus-like protists If you found this helpful, don’t forget to like, share and subscribe for more easy biology explanations! #SlimeMoulds #BiologicalClassification #KingdomProtista #Class11Biology #NEET #ScienceVideo #BiologyShorts
