About the Speaker (Spanish) Alejandra Peña Pous es Maestra en desarrollo social y pobreza ha podido confirmar que la educación alternativa a través de proyectos sistémicos son un medio para combatir los grandes problemas mundiales como la pobreza, la migración, la salud, los derechos humanos, entre otros. Defensora de que el simple hecho de ayudar o querer ayudar no es suficiente, sino que hay que saber hacerlo y hacerlo bien mediante proyectos que transformen la realidad. Actualmente es directora de Mayama A.C. organización comprometida con los niños y niñas de México en situación vulnerable donde se les apoya con un modelo de educación innovador de alta calidad que contribuye a combatir la pobreza y violencia logrando un desarrollo integral. About TEDxZapopan The goal of TEDxZapopan is to connect the agents of change in our community and discuss the ideas and solutions of the most pressing challenges our society faces. The focus of our second event was "The Power of Purpose". More than 20 change agents and representatives of different NGO´s from Guadalajara have shared their insights, experiences and ideas with the local community and inspired the collaboration to confront the major social issues we are facing (i.e. from environment, education, social integration up to the infinite possibilities of people with handicaps).
