Following Jesus Is a One-Way Road | Luke

Because of a blizzard in Mason City, we had to cancel our in-person service today. Instead, our church family is gathering online to hear this message together from home. In Luke 9:57–62, Jesus has three conversations with people who say they want to follow Him. What He reveals is challenging but incredibly important. Following Jesus is not something we add to our lives when it is convenient. It is a decision that changes everything. Jesus shows that real discipleship requires three things: • No backup plan • No delays • No looking back Many people believe they can follow Jesus while still holding onto parts of their old life. But Jesus makes it clear that discipleship is a one-way road. In this message we explore what it means to truly follow Christ, why the call of the kingdom is urgent, and why freedom in Christ requires leaving the old life behind. This message is especially meaningful for anyone walking through recovery, struggling with old habits, or feeling pulled between the life they used to live and the life Jesus is calling them into. The Christian life is not lived in the rearview mirror. Following Jesus means moving forward with Him.
