In West Bengal's Howrah, the situation remained tense on Friday as reports of stone-throwing events came out of the region. Conflicts between two groups occurred during a parade celebrating Ram Navami in Kazipara, Howrah, on Thursday. Prominent religious figures have gathered in the region and are attempting to calm the situation. "It was Mamata Banerjee's plan for a mishap to happen so that she can blame it on BJP. The same incident has occurred in Howrah last year as well.", says Dilip Gosh. "Violence was targeted at 'Ram Navami Shobha Yatra' as the cops turned into mere spectators,", West Bengal LoP, Suvendu Adhikari says, further alleging a targeted attack on devotees by TMC supporters in Howrah. Several police officers were sent to the area in order to keep the peace. At least 35 persons were detained in relation to the violence during the Ram Navami procession after the city police conducted searches and raids in several areas around Kazipar.
