Did combining all our chicken flocks slow down egg production?

We have been talking about it for some time now and we finally decided to pull the trigger and combine all our chickens into one flock. We debated building one large coop to put them all in and pull it around the farm with the tractor but decided to just use the chickshaws that we already had and save the money. Also, when you have a large coop for all your birds there is a large concentration of manure right under the coop and usually leaves you with bare spot in your pasture. By using our chickshaws it is easy to move them daily within the fencing so we can spread the manure throughout the pasture and we shouldn't end up with any bare spots. We have also been asked multiple time how many egg laying chickens do we have and we haven’t really been able to give a answer since our chicken math has gone crazy.
