American Railroad: Vol 26 - Railfanning in Maryland: CSX Metropolitan Sub and Amtrak NE Corridor

Contents: In the first half of the programme, we follow the CSX Transportation Metropolitan Subdivision towards Washington, from Knoxville to Rockville, calling at Brunswick, Point of Rocks, Pepco, and Gaithersburg along the way. Near Knoxville we include three trains, just across the state border, passing through Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, in the CSX Cumberland Subdivision, one filmed from the spectacular overlook at Maryland Heights. From Point of Rocks, we take a brief excursion to visit the Maryland Midland shortline at Union Bridge and Keymar. The second half of the programme focuses on the Amtrak Northeast Corridor north of Washington, as far as Perryville. We concentrate on the more scenic and accessible locations, picking it up at Seabrook, taking in two locations in Bowie, then featuring Odenton just south of Baltimore. Before crossing Baltimore, we pay a brief visit to the CSX junction at Relay northwest of the city, at the meeting point of the three subdivisions, the Old Main Line Sub, the Capitol Sub, and the Baltimore Terminal Sub. Rejoining the Amtrak Northeast Corridor north of Baltimore at Edgewood, we concentrate on scenic locations at Otter Point, filmed from Willoughby Beach, Havre De Grace and close the programme at Perryville. In addition to Amtrak and CSX trains, the programme includes a number of Maryland Transit Authority MARC commuter trains, and Norfolk Southern makes and appearance, too.
