David Routman, MD, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, reports the results of the MC1675 trial (NCT02908477) that evaluated the use of de-escalated adjuvant radiation therapy (DART) compared to the standard of care adjuvant radiation therapy (RT) for HPV-associated oropharynx cancer after surgery. The Phase III randomized study found that patient reported outcomes, including quality of life, were significantly improved in patients receiving the DART regiment compared to those receiving standard of care adjuvant RT.
