Check out this Norfolk Southern train carrying a steel coils car and a scale test car in pieces on flat cars. Have you ever seen that before? By the way, a scale test car is a small railroad car that calibrates the scales used to weigh loaded railroad cars. The car's weight is known and carefully maintained so that it can be used as a standard to calibrate the track scale. They are rare to catch. I caught one on a street running train in Warsaw, Indiana in the fall. We also see the Norfolk Southern train with a hard working DPU on the rear followed by a heavy duty depressed center flat car with 12 axles and 24 wheels. That car can carry some cargo. We also see an Indiana & Ohio Railway train with one of their recently obtained C449W locomotives that is still in BNSF livery. This is a powerful locomotive built in 1999 and is easily pulling this train by itself. The engineer gave me a wave. We also see a CSX intermodal train, we see a signal dropped as the train passes and we take a close look at the dump site that is growing at a popular Railfan location.
