CNC Instructor Matt Schmelzer talks about threadmilling and illustrates how to program a threadmilling operation on a CNC machine. There are many different types of tools that you can use to achieve threadmilling applications. In this video, Matt walks through a couple different options. One being an HSS cutting form tool with the pitch of the threads ground into the flute. The second cutting tool is a universal style thread mill, using a top notch carbide insert which will cut one thread per pass. Watch now to learn more about the advantages and disadvantages of these different cutting tools when used for thread milling.
