Back in Toronto at last! GO, VIA and UP Express at Union Station on September 23, 2020

September 2020 Railfanning Trip # 3 As part of my trip up north, my first stop was Toronto's Union Station. I was very surprised by how few people that I encountered in downtown Toronto, particularly on a beautiful Wednesday afternoon. Times sure have changed. The quiet gave me an opportunity to set up at my favourite spot, just west of Union Station below the CN Tower to catch some commuter trains. Metrolinx GO Transit, Union-Pearson (the "other" UP) Express and VIA Rail all made an appearance. In total, I was able to catch 14 trains in just under an hour. I sped up the video a bit and added some music from Arnold Sprogis for this offering. With the lack of passers by, background noise and voices really stood out during the video and I thought it was just best to do away them entirely. So, for those of you hoping for the sounds of these locomotives working and wheels squealing, I apologize; but I hope that the trains you see more than make up for it.
