'Another outbreak of TDS': Rowan Dean slams critics over Trump tariffs

Sky News host Rowan Dean has weighed in on the political and media response to US President Donald Trump’s tariffs, accusing critics of suffering from "Trump Derangement Syndrome" over a policy move he says was always clearly aimed at China. Mr Dean’s remarks come amidst escalating trade tensions between the US and China, after President Donald Trump further increased tariffs on Chinese goods to a whopping 145 per cent. The move came as Trump backflipped on other key tariffs, reducing some hefty country-specific duties down to 10 per cent for a 90-day period. “Had you been watching this show, this would not have come as all that much of a surprise," Mr Dean said. “As I said … a week ago, when everybody was having a meltdown over tariffs with Anthony Albanese attacking Trump's tariffs as not being the act of a friend. “When every other commentator I know was suddenly infected with a not-so-rare outbreak of TDS. “There is only one question all Australians must ask themselves. “Do we want America or China to be the world’s dominant superpower going forward? That’s it. Full stop. You have to choose. You can’t have both. One negates the other.”
