For Viel Aquino-Dee, EDSA is not just a memory of the past, but a living responsibility carried by every Filipino. “Proud na proud ako sa nagawa ng mga Pilipino noong 1986. Hinangaan tayo ng mundo. Kailangan magawa pa rin natin ‘yan ngayon—mapayapa, walang karahasan,” she said. She emphasized that the true meaning of People Power lies in the courage to express grievances to leaders—not through violence, but through peaceful and disciplined action. “Buhay pa ang diwa ng EDSA. Nasa Pilipino ‘yan kung paano natin panatilihing buhay.” Having personally lived through Martial Law, she remembers the hardship of those years. “Pinagdaanan namin ang Martial Law.
