Tonight we celebrated Cast Iron Wednesday with sirloin steak. I've just moved into a new apartment, and I'd invited my friend Mama Bear and her husband over to eat in my kitchen for the first time. Sirloin has to be marinated to tenderize the meat, and all you need to do is cover the steak in your marinade, and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least eight hours. The recipe for this marinade can be seen here: https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/143... Once we got used to the smoke detector, cooking the steak was extremely simple. All you need to do is flip the steak every minute, and keep track of the temperature until it reaches medium rare. In this video it took a total of about eight minutes to bring the steak to the correct temperature. After the steak was cooked, the remainder of the marinade was added to the pan, and mushrooms were sauteed in the pan sauce.
