Turns out this is a unique power adapter and one of the first of its kind on the market! Apple publishes very little info. on it however. This power adapter uses a NEW power delivery protocol developed by Apple called USB PD 3.2 PPS or AVS (adjustable voltage supply). This means that it can adjust to whatever exact voltage the device asks for, instead or just a standard set of a few voltages. At the time of this video, the iPhone 17 models were not out yet. It turns out they can charge at a max of 36w so this power adapter works great for them. Here I show that this power adapter can also be used safely for any older device and charge at whatever power the device can support, up to 60w. I have now tested it with a near drained battery on both my iPhone 14 Pro (it charged up to the iPhone's max of 30w, and the iPad Pro charged to it's max of 40w, with this power adapter. Apple is being transparent and not marketing it as a 60w because it can only sustain 60w for about 20 minutes before it gets hot and ramps down to 40w. So, it's 40w sustained. Unlike some other makers who market power adapters at the max it can charge.
