When the PLANET OF THE APES franchise first launched onscreen with the original film in 1968, groundbreaking make-up and prosthetic work was used to bring the intelligent talking apes to life. This remained the case until 2011's RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES rebooted the series, this time by using groundbreaking performance capture technology and CGI for the apes instead. While many fans enjoy both, some definitely prefer one over the other, and so I’m here to take a look at both, and give my thoughts!
