中国使用金银器的时间最早可以追溯到三千多年前的商代，但是从商代直到战国末期，人们对于金银的使用只局限在装饰青铜器物。到了隋朝，随着各个民族文化间的相互交流，中国古代的金银器制作迎来了一个新的时代，这个时期的金银器有比较明显的外来文化的痕迹。而从唐代开始，中国古代金银器进入巅峰时期，将民族风格突出到极致。 The earliest use of gold and silverware in China can be traced back to the Shang Dynasty more than 3,000 years ago, but from the Shang Dynasty to the end of the Warring States period, people's use of gold and silver only limited to decorate bronze wares. In the Sui Dynasty, with the mutual exchanges between various ethnics, the production of gold and silverware in ancient China ushered in a new era. The gold and silverware of this period had obvious traces of foreign cultures. Since the Tang Dynasty, ancient Chinese gold and silver wares have entered their peak period, highlighting the national style to the extreme.
