So, you've bought an EV, and you now need a charger. In this video, I'll walk you through my entire journey with the Ohme ePod smart home charger, from ordering to installation and its day-to-day performance. I was given the choice of either charger, and I still chose their untethered ePod charger. A few months in, and I still don't regret it. It is clean and compact on my house exterior, and because I charge no more than around 1-2x a week, there is less clutter of cables hanging around the charger when my EV isn't being plugged in. The performance has been fine. A few hiccups now and then, mostly my own doing, but as long as you charge for long journeys a day or two in advance, you avoid any issues. Make sure your car charge limit is set to max at 80% or any higher for longer planned trips. The integration with my Intelligent Octopus Go energy tariff has been superb, with low off-peak charging throughout the day whilst it has been plugged in, and over these last two months, they have synced up just fine with my bills since pairing the charger with IOG rather than letting my Born do all the connecting.
