SOLO MT SIR DONALD! Alone on the NW ridge

Mt Sir Donald is the crown jewel of Canada's glacier national park and is listed as one of the 50 classic climbs of North America...For good reason! In Todays video I go solo up the iconic NW ridge. A sustained 4th and 5th class knife edge of pristine Selkirk granite, that transports climbers high into the sky. This ridge is no joke and goes on seemingly forever... until you reach the summit! With the best view in the park Sir Donald's summit boasts extremely beautiful views of BC's neighboring ranges and the Illecillewaet glacier. From the summit I descend the South ridge to terminal peak, where I have some complications with my borrowed rope on the rappels, forcing me to abandon it. I then glissade down the Illecillewaet glacier to pearly rock, enjoying a gorgeous sunset and continuing back to the car in pure darkness.
