Brief dub history: Dub 1 The series was first shown in Hungary by Magyar Televízió (MTV) in the late 1960s. It is widely known because the classic Hungarian version was written by József Romhányi, and unlike the original, the dialogue is interspersed with rhymes and language games throughout. In this version, László Csákányi voices Frédi, Irén Psota voices Vilma, László Márkus voices Béni and Hédi Váradi voices Irma. Romhányi's texts have become part of Hungarian spoken culture. Dub 2 In the 1990s, ZOOM Kft., which distributed many Hanna-Barbera series and films at the time, released a few episodes and films with its original dubbing, but for The Flintstones, they produced a new dubbed version. This version was without rhymes and the four main characters, Fred, Vilma, Béni and Irma, were voiced by Lajos Kránitz, Mariann Kocsis, József Kerekes and Ildikó Jani. Dub 3 After Turner Broadcasting System bought Hanna-Barbera and launched Cartoon Network, the European version was broadcast in English in Hungary until 2003. In 2003, Hungary left Cartoon Network Europe together with Poland and Romania to form Cartoon Network Central and Eastern Europe (Cartoon Network CEE). However, it was not until the summer of 2004 that Frédi and Béni were available in Hungarian. Since Magyar Televízió did not produce all the Hungarian versions of any of the episodes of any season, and many of them were lost/destroyed from the Magyar Televízió archives, Cartoon Network broadcast a new dubbed version, produced by Mafilm Audio Kft. Frédi, Vilma, Beni and Irma were voiced by János Papp, Anikó Für, István Mikó and Judit Pogány. Uploaded for archiving purposes. Oh, I have Twitter as well now!
