The word Navratri means “nine nights” in Sanskrit, with each day celebrating a different form of the goddess and her qualities of strength, protection, and wisdom. While its roots are in India, Navratri has found a beautiful home in Thailand, especially along Silom Road, where the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple (Wat Khaek) becomes the heart of the celebration. The highlight is the Vijaya Dasami procession, where dazzling shrines, colorful offerings, and traditional music fill the streets.
