The Italian pianist Giovanni Velluti has forged a distinguished international career as soloist, chamber musician and accompanist. He has enjoyed a particularly important close association with Katia Ricciarelli, whom he has partnered since 1994 in many tours and television broadcasts throughout Europe, America, Africa and the Middle East , and in many television broadcastings. Other leading singers with whom he has worked regularly are Andrea Bocelli, Carlo Lepore, Stefania Bonfadelli, Daniela Dessì, Paolo Bordogna, Roberta Canzian, Gianfranco Cecchele, Manuela Custer, Kristian Johansson, Daniela Barcellona, Giacomo Prestia, Rossana Rinaldi, Antonio Salvadori, Gianluca Terranova, and Manuel Zapata. Velluti was decisively influenced by his encounter with the teacher Rodolfo Caporali, a direct pianistic descendant of Chopin and Thalberg. He is now assistant to William Grant Naborè, founder of the "International Academy of Piano Lake Como", of which Martha Argerich is honorary president. Velluti has performed in the most important Italian concert halls and abroad (including Teatro Comunale of Bologna, Teatro Argentina of Rome, Teatro Comunale of Ferrara, Turin RAI Auditorium, Rome Parco della musica, Teatro Filarmonico di Verona, London’s Steinway Hall, Conway Hall and St. Martin-in-the-fields, etc) , and in many international festivals including the Varna Summer Festival, Festival di Pasqua of Locarno, Ochrid festival, Festival Magna Grecia of Taranto, Temporada de musica de Andorra, and Alto Adige Musicastello Festival. His concerts were often broadcasted by the major Italian and foreign tv channels and he took part in many radio programs (Rai radio3, Euroradio- concerti al Palazzo del Quirinale, Radio vaticana). A CD recorded on an perfectly restored 1890 Erard piano is being be sold on “I-tunes”. In march 2013 a Cd recorded with bass Carlo Lepore and critical notes by P.Gossett was released. He teaches piano accompaniment and Lyrical repertoire in S.Cecilia Rome Conservatoire. Daniela Dessì (1957-2016) was considered one of the world’s leading sopranos and a reference point for the Verdi, Puccini and Verismo repertoire. Thanks to the beauty of her voice, a strong technique and an intense dramatic talent, she has been able to sing from Monteverdi to Prokof’ev, performing in more than seventy different operas. This versatility has significantly been underlined when, in 2011, she was awarded with the Prize Belcanto “Celletti”, Her international career took her to a variety of opera theatres, singing under the direction of conductors such as Riccardo Muti, Claudio Abbado, and the Metropolitan Opera's James Levine.
