FGM-148 Javelin is an American man-portable fire-and-forget anti-tank missile. It uses infrared guidance that allows the user to seek cover immediately after launch, as opposed to wire-guided systems. The Javelin's warhead is capable of defeating any modern tank. This and all the guided anti-tank missiles are based on a German weapon, the X-7 Rotkäppchen (Red Riding Hood).
