Welcome to a wintery small town in Estonia❣️ Today I’m sharing the peaceful and slower-paced side of my life with you. In a world that often feels like a whirlwind, I hope my video serves as a little getaway. I’m visiting my parents house again and I show you what a typical winter day at home looks like here. I’ll also be sharing an old Estonian recipe, one of my favorites from childhood. Enjoy! 📌 #estonia Instagram: / idyll.in.everyday.life Pinterest: / _created Note: My version of the recipe is a bit different (I don't follow any specific recipe), but this one is taken from a popular Estonian recipe site: https://nami-nami.ee/retsept/3941/hak... 🍆Cabbage and Minced Meat Stew Ingredients: ▪️400 g minced meat ▪️Oil for frying ▪️1-2 onions ▪️A little bit of water ▪️1 kg fresh cabbage ▪️2 carrots ▪️Salt and black pepper ▪️Chopped fresh parsley or dill For serving: ▪️Boiled potatoes Instructions: Heat a little oil in a pot, add finely chopped cabbage and coarsely grated carrots. Heat for a minute, then add hot water*, cover the pot, and simmer until the cabbage is cooked. Stir occasionally. In a pan, fry the onion and minced meat, then add it to the almost finished cabbage. Simmer until fully cooked. Season with salt, pepper, and plenty of parsley. Serve with boiled potatoes. Tips and Suggestions: ▪️The amount of water depends on whether you want more or less liquid in the cabbage. ▪️The simmering time depends on the age of the cabbage, the size of the cabbage pieces, and how crunchy you prefer it. The minimum cooking time is half an hour, but the average time is about an hour. Music from Epidemic Sound: https://share.epidemicsound.com/xccqub
