Details for diagnosing and repairing a Gen1 (1999-2002) SV650 fuel level sensor; much of this could apply to other bikes / situations as well. The SV650 uses a pair of thermistor-based switches for low fuel warning lights on the dash. Like Brian's video ( • 1999 SV650 fuel level sender thermister re... ), I explain the general features/functions of the system and how to fix it, but also show the key for testing it without the bike running. Additionally, I use a Resistance Substitution Box to illustrate how varying resistance affects the system. It also doesn't hurt to review the Fuel Level Indicator Light Switch part, Ch4, pg 4-8 in mine. Other bikes most likely have similar sections. The thermistors I used were 100ohm epoxy coated ones from DigiKey, specifically part# KC101B2K: https://www.digikey.com/en/products/d...
