A rehearsal was held at the new Pamban Railway Bridge, connecting Rameswaram Island with the mainland, ahead of its inauguration on 6th April. During the rehearsal, the new and old railway bridges were lifted and lowered, trains were run on the new bridge and ships were run across the railway bridges.
