[Solved]: Yes! Turns out the blade has to be really sharp. Not just sort of sharp. A new blade fixed it. Sharpening it would have probably worked fine, but I had a new one sitting around, so I just used that. Original Description: I'm trying to figure out why the used chipper I just purchased does not want to accept branches being fed in to it. The chipper has an upgraded engine that runs strong. The blade appears pretty sharp. However, branches don't want to feed into it, even though the branches are much smaller than the thickness the chipper is rated for. Please leave a comment if you have an idea of what I could do to fix the machine. Thank you. (The person I purchased it from said the blade needed to be replaced, however the old blade looked to be in great condition.)
