We are finding that, eventually, the Biolytix systems are failing, primarily due to the fouling and sealing of the geofabric filter membrane towards the bottom of the tank. The other two membranes can also become blocked. This doesn’t allow water to percolate through into the pump chamber and the tank ‘floods’. A flooded tank and rising water will short out the electrical control box and aerator, causing further damage and costs. The water level must be maintained well below the lid. While we have been reasonably successful in installing breather tubes and redirecting the air line into these, occasionally a complete rebuild is warranted.
