It is the first day of spring in the New Zealand mountains and the forecast is for snow, rain, and strong winds. I am heading out for an adventure deep into the mountains, to camp alone alongside a beautiful mountain tarn. In this video I brave the sleet, snow and wind to set up camp. I get a campfire going and brew up some mulled wine. In spite of the crazy weather I am able to make and enjoy a fantastic camp, with incredibly awe-inspiring views. I take you for two walks to explore the area, and along the way discover some hidden gems. Camping in the winter (or in this case the very start of spring) can be challenging, but with good gear, a lot of planning, and a bit of grit, it can be the most phenomenally rewarding. Indi is not on this trip with me as she is not allowed into National Parks. Cathy ---- CHANNEL MEMBERSHIP Feel free to check it out here: / @adventureot ----- WANT TO SUPPORT THE CHANNEL?
