Connecting Pātea

In December 2025, Fortysouth launched a new cell site to provide Pātea in South Taranaki with improved mobile connectivity. This was a community led initiative, strongly advocated for by Pātea's community leaders, who committed to their community to get better coverage by the end of 2025. With One NZ and Spark on board, construction started in November 2025 on a new 30-metre multi network operator site. The new cell site is a great outcome and shows what can be achieved with collaboration and commitment from all to find a solution for the Pātea community. Ensuring communities have resilient mobile infrastructure is one of Fortysouth's key priorities and we encourage communities to proactively contact us to see what can be done if they have mobile connectivity issues.
