This is the story of what happened to many of the West's persecuted unmarried mothers and their abandoned children in the post war era of extreme misogyny. Born in secret at the Rosemundy House hideaway home for unmarried mothers in St Agnes , Cornwall during the 1950s, I was one of those children. Rosemundy was a cruel, abusive English-style "Magdalene Laundry". Many people believe that the brutal Magdalene Laundries were Irish Catholic institutions. In fact the first 'Magdalene Laundry' was in London and Protestant. Thereafter, on the British mainland, followed over 200 such "laundries" and 600 unmarried mothers' homes (many funded by the Church of England) where treatment was as abusive. A UK Parliamentary Inquiry has called for the UK government to issue an apology to the persecuted mothers and their children, and to fund access to counselling and family searches. The Movement for An Adoption Apology (MAA) is demanding that the new Labour Government accepts the Inquiries' recommendations and issues an apology. On May 10th, 2025, a special plaque, commemorating the mothers and children who passed through Rosemundy House in St Agnes, was placed on public display in the Cornish town. It was the first in Great Britain... and will not be the last. The Song of an Adoptee series was created for this occasion. • Плейлист For more of my personal story you can watch the below videos : • Golly in the Cupboard • The Golly in the Cupboard Revised 3rd edition • Our Town Now (feat.
