Newtex's Technical Team demonstrated the capabilities of the Z-Block Fire Containment Bag with live fire testing on December 1, 2016 at Newtex Industries, Inc. The Z-Block™ Fire Containment Bag is designed to contain fires caused by the Lithium-Ion batteries used to power laptops, smartphones, tablets, and other personal electronic devices (PEDs). Fire containment bags are most commonly used aboard aircraft and in other confined spaces where a lithium-ion battery fire is likely to lead to extensive property damage or loss of life. The Z-Block™ fire containment bag has been tested extensively with live battery fires, and the fire resistant materials used to fabricate the fire containment bag have been tested in accordance with FAA standards.
