The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) says education workers will go on strike again if a deal is not reached by 5 p.m. on Sunday. Parents prepare themselves for a weekend of uncertainty as a possible strike by educators emerges. Various school boards have said that learning will move online if a strike by CUPE takes place. It would be the second time that education workers, which include early childhood educators, custodians, and education assistants to go on strike this month. CUPE has said workers recently agreed on a 3.59 per cent wage increase, but the union still protests for more job opportunities for educators. Education Minister Stephen Lecce said the government has proposed many improved offers and has not asked CUPE for any concessions.
