EYE IN THE SKY LOCATES MISSING ELDERLY MAN WITH DEMENTIA: On May 12, 2021, at 9:41 pm, 3 Precinct officers responded to a high-risk missing person at a North High Street retirement community. The caller, a staff member, reported that John T. walked away from the building, unattended at approximately 9:16pm. The caller described John T., 91 years old, with dementia. The officers searched the immediate area but were unsuccessful. The Helicopter Unit responded to assist. At 11:01 pm, the Helicopter Unit located John T. using the FLIR system. He was lying in the grass next to a wood line in the rear of 239 Fenway Road. John T. had been missing for nearly two hours and had traveled three-tenths of a mile away from the Retirement Community. He would likely not have been located within a reasonable amount of time without the assistance of the Helicopter Unit. It should be noted there was a frost advisory issued, with a low of 37 degrees.
