Namaste ji & Welcome to my channel :) Experience the electrifying beats of Zunjaar Dhol Tasha Pathak at the Toronto Diversity Festival 2025, held at Sankofa Square (formerly Yonge-Dundas Square) on August 9th, 2025. This high-energy performance began at 7 PM and instantly filled the square with powerful drumbeats, chants of "Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj" and "Har Har Mahadev", and the kind of cultural pride that gives you goosebumps. 🌟 About Dhol Tasha The Dhol (large cylindrical drum) and Tasha (smaller, higher-pitched drum) are traditional percussion instruments from Maharashtra, India. Origins: Rooted in the martial traditions of the Maratha Empire, these instruments were historically played to inspire warriors and mark important events. Modern Usage: Today, Dhol Tasha is central to Ganesh Chaturthi processions, Gudi Padwa celebrations, and public rallies, blending rhythmic precision with passionate cultural expression. Cultural Significance: Beyond music, the beats represent unity, strength, and the spirit of Maharashtra. 🗓 About the Event The performance was part of the Toronto Diversity Festival organized by Moksha Canada Foundation, which celebrates the city’s multicultural identity through music, dance, and art. Multiple groups performed that evening, but Zunjaar Dhol Tasha brought the square to life with unmatched energy. 📍 Learn more about upcoming events at Sankofa Square: 🔗 https://www.sankofasquare.ca/calendar 🎥 If you enjoyed this video ✅ Like ✅ Comment with your favorite moment ✅ Subscribe for more cultural performances from around the world
