Never a band to repeat themselves, Dutch ensemble Nemesea have covered a wide array of sounds across their career: symphonic metal, gothic metal, alternative rock, electronic rock, nu metal, symphonic rock (even neue deutsche härte for one song) etc. The best of these sounds is showcased in this playlist covering the band's first four releases when they were fronted by Manda Ophuis. This one's a little shorter than most of the other band-specific playlists, but I think it's a nice collection of songs that highlight the evolution of the band, while also maintaining a tonal cohesiveness (that was the challenge). Nemesea during this time was: Manda Ophuis - Vocals (2002-2016) Hendrik Jande Jong - Guitar, Vocals, Keyboards, Programming (2002-present) Martijn Pronk - Guitar (2002-2007) Sonny Onderwater - Bass (2002-present) Berto Booijink - Keyboards (2002-2007) Chris Postma - Drums (2002-2005) Sander Zoer - Drums (2005-2006) Steven Bouma - Drums, Percussion (2006-2011, 2016-present) Lasse Dellbrügge - Keyboards, Programming (2009-2015) Frank van der Star - Drums (2011-2015) Mathijs van Til - Keyboards (2017-present) Guest Musicians: Peter van Dijk - Spoken word (track 2) Ido Gerard Kemenaar - Percussion on Mana Saskia de Vries, Judith Bouma, Marieke Bouma, Mirjam Leentvaar, David van Royen, Gerard van Beijeren - Choir on Mana Sergey Arseniev, Jan Buizer, Sietse Jan Weijenberg - String trio on Mana Joost van den Broek - Piano on The Quiet Resistance Heli Reißenweber - Vocals (track 9) Steven Bouma - Drums, Percussion on Uprise NOTES: Like many of my individual band playlists, the songs usebehave been slightly edited to enhance the flow of the listening experience. Though this one has gone through minimal alterations, some things to note. The outro of track 9 has been shortened, while the outro to track 12 has been slightly extended. Track 01 uses a snipet of "Nemesis" as intro.
