You probably already knew that the CF Moto Ibex 800 shares an engine with the KTM 790 Adventure, and that CF Moto manufactures both engines at their factories in China. You could be forgiven then if, like me, you assumed that the KTM 790 Adventure and the CFMoto Ibex 800 were very similar motorcycles. I finally got a chance to take an Ibex 800 off road and I'm happy to report that when comparing CF Moto Ibex 800 vs KTM 790 Adventure, the two bikes are very different and are set up for two very different types of adventure motorcycle riding. I had a blast taking the CFmoto Ibex 800 off road at the Touratech Rally and I came away impressed with its build quality and on-road comfort. It's a decent forest road bike but I wouldn't plan on taking it on anything more hardcore or super technical just because it doesn't have an off road mode and the ABS can't be switched off. My initial CF Moto Ibex 800 review is pretty positive. I think there's a lot of adventure bike here for the right type of rider: one who is more focused on crushing miles on the highway than tackling the toughest off road motorcycle riding.
