In the recent electoral campaign in the United States, both candidates agreed China was a threat to security and fair competition. Now the United States has a new president who has threatened to impose 60 percent tariffs on all Chinese goods, 100 percent tariffs on electric vehicles, and a total ban on cars with software coming from China. Trade between China and the United States has diminished in recent years, to the benefit of countries such as Vietnam and Mexico. What can we expect in the coming years when it comes to China-US trade and economic relations? How is the weakened Chinese economy reacting to US threats, and what is the strategy to address them?
