This is a video of myself covering Clutch's "Profits of Doom". It was recorded in two takes. The left and right angles were recorded the same take as the audio, and the angle of my footwork was done in another take, since I only have two cameras. I did this video as a test so that I could play around with GarageBand and FinalCut Express before I start doing some more videos. I messed up the aspect ratio while editing, so the right-angle (upper half of the screen) is stretched out quite a bit. To record the audio, I used an 8-channel Presonus tube interface Firewired straight to my iMac, into Garageband. Mics used are Peavey PVMs for the toms, Audio Technica MB6K for the kick drum, Shure SM57 for the snare and SE se1a and Apex 180 condenser mics for the overheads. Oh, and an SM58 room mic. Barely any EQ was used in this video, if at all. I really wanted to capture a natural drum sound. My drumset is a Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute in vintage natural finish. Sizes are 24x18, 13x9, 16x16, 18x16 with a 1965 Ludwig LM400 snare drum. Cymbals are Sabian 14" Vault Artisan hats, 18" AAXplosion Fast crash, 20" HHX Evolution ride and 19" AAX Dark crash. Heads are Remo Coated Emperor over clear Ambassador on toms, snare is Coated Ambassador over clear Ambassador and kick is PS3 over Emperor Smooth White. Hardware: DW 9002 kick pedal and hi-hat stand, Yamaha boom stands. This was filmed with two cameras, a Kodak Zi8 with a fisheye lens duct-taped to it and a GoPro. The angle up top is from the Zi8 and the ones in the bottom are from the GoPro. This was my first time recording and editing anything and definitely was and will be a learning curve. Let me know what you think! Cheers! Big thanks to my friend Jim Dupuis for lending me his interface, sm57, overhead, fisheye lens and recording knowledge! Also, for drinking beer in the background. Like a bawss! **I do not own this song. All rights belong to their respective owners.**
