SYNOPSIS: A young woman looks back and remembers her childhood and relationship she had with her mentally absent and abusive mother and the struggles she faced that led her to find hope in her life. I've been working on this film for the past year. I've been wanting to direct and act in my very own piece for years now and I was finally given the opportunity to do so. As hard as it was to create something so personal and damaging to me, I wanted to take the opportunity to tell people my story in hopes of reaching out to those who have had a similar traumatic experience and be reminded that there is still hope in the world. Sexual Assault has been a vast issue for years and isn't as addressed as it should be and that is why I took the time to create something so special and touching, not only for myself, but for others. It has impacted the lives of many young adolescents and women or men in the world today. I want my viewers to recognize their voice and use it, for it is the process of healing and it is great medicine. Creating this film alone has given me strength and power and I have been reminded that everything is okay. There is hope. It's time to move on to the next chapter.
