Nineteen Seventh-day Adventist pastors dismissed by the Central Rift Valley Conference have rejected accusations of apostasy and gross misconduct, calling their removal unlawful and punitive. The pastors were stripped of their credentials in a February 3, 2026 notice, which accused them of forming an apostasy organisation and violating church policy. They say the dispute is not doctrinal. Instead, they describe it as a governance and accountability conflict within church leadership. At a press conference in Nakuru, the group denied abandoning Adventist beliefs. They raised concerns about alleged moral misconduct among senior officials, possible mismanagement of church funds, the Narok land dispute, questions over the Vanga Road property in Nairobi, and the WSG OptiCoin Kenya investment controversy. They also accused church leaders of breaching confidentiality by releasing termination letters publicly before formally serving them. The pastors have signalled plans to seek legal redress if what they call defamatory actions continue. The Central Rift Valley Conference has not issued a detailed response beyond citing misconduct and apostasy as grounds for the dismissals. The dispute has stirred concern among some church members, who are calling for unity within the denomination.
