I had this one up several months ago and took it down. I'm feeling braver again. Forgive errors on guitar (I'm working on it!)... but hopefully you can get past that ;) This is an original that has received a lot of positive feedback, but I warn it's not too cheery. her parents never heard a word shed say too busy caught up in their fights of yesterday they never seemed to notice the effects of their decay but Lisa cried the night her daddy went away she said, I dont need a pillar I dont need an anchor I dont need a season I just want the reason I dont understand this Im drowning in emptiness isnt anybody out there? is there anyone who might care? she learned to hide her sadness; she learned to hide her fears she even learned a way to stop the tears she put herself through college and she filled up all her years she met a man who changed the way she looked into the mirror he told her she was pretty and he liked the way she smiled he held her in his arms and said hed stay awhile she moved into his cottage and he went out with his friends and Lisa worried every night his drinking would never end she said, I dont need a pillar I dont need an anchor I dont need a season I just want the reason I dont understand this Im drowning in emptiness isnt anybody out there? is there anyone who might care? she lost herself in books and dreams and thoughts of what should be she tried every religion hoping maybe she would see she longed to find a tonic or a cure to set her free and Lisa said the only thing that I can change it me I dont need a pillar I dont need an anchor I dont need a season I just want the reason I dont understand this this drowning in emptiness maybe no one else is out there maybe its enough that I care I dont need a pillar I dont need an anchor I dont need a season and I dont need a reason
