Rapidly rising waters triggered floods in Iligan amid 'Basyang' onslaught – mayor | ANC

Dateline Philippines: Iligan City, Lanao del Norte Mayor Frederick Siao on Friday, February 6, said that although the city was prepared for Tropical Storm Basyang, water levels rose rapidly, causing flooding. He added that 21 barangays were affected and 4,579 residents remain in evacuation centers due to the storm. Several bridges in the city were also damaged, the mayor said. Siao went on to make an appeal to the national government.
