Redington-Lemmon Bikepacking Loop in April 2022 The loop is 110 miles, but I added an additional 40 miles roundtrip along the Rillito River multi-use path. I saw two Gila monsters, a rattlesnake sunning itself in the middle of the road and some Javelina. Watch the second Gila monster taking a stroll at the end of the video! Pretty cool creatures. "The Redington-Lemmon Loop is the best gravel loop out of Tucson. It’s an equal split of dirt and pavement with nearly 12,000 feet of climbing in 110 miles and makes for a fantastic one, two, or three-day trip. The 20-mile road to Mount Lemmon in itself is world-class, transitioning between seven ecological zones from saguaro cactus to Canadian pine forests. Add on Redington Road and the dirt backside of Lemmon and you have a real adventure... ... This route requires a decent level of fitness as there is quite a bit of climbing. It is not very technical, but the road surface can be rough. I’ve ridden this route at least a dozen times: in one day, two days, and three. It’s an ass-kicker any way you approach it, but always a great, beautiful adventure. The ride is unique for the desert as finding food and particularly water is fairly easy." |Follow me| Instagram: / sometimesimanathlete Facebook: / sometimesimathlete Strava: / strava Blog: http://www.mikeerides.com |Check out my books| Sometimes I'm An Athlete Children's book: https://tinyurl.com/ybw2c7ur Introduction to Bicycle Rollers: https://tinyurl.com/4ebck4uv #bikepacking #adventure #bicycletouring #bikepacker #redingtonlemmonloop
