Morrissey - This Is Not Your Country (Unofficial Video)

This Is Not Your Country is a song by Morrissey. Originally released in December 1997 as a B-side for the single Satan Rejected My Soul, the song also appeared on the reissue of the album Maladjusted in 2009. The song was written and composed by Morrissey and Alain Whyte and was produced by Danton Supple. Morrissey said that this song is "...a ramble through the innoculation blotch of Ireland's North, now so changed, but then so seemingly unchangeable." Morrissey is the founder, former front-man and composer for the seminal English band The Smiths and since the groups break-up in 1987 he has remained an internationally renowned and successful solo artist. The video is made using clips taken from Maeve the 1981 film written by Pat Murphy and directed by John Davies and Pat Murphy. The film stars Mary Jackson, Mark Mulholl and Brid Brennan and it tells the story of Mary Jackson who returns to her family home in Belfast, during the Troubles, having being away for several years. The video also uses clips from several documentaries about the Troubles in Northern Ireland, as well as BBC News reports and the 1996 television advertisement for Peugeot.
