(1 Jul 2009) SHOTLIST AP Television Santa Monica, Calif., 30 June 2009 1. Lou Ferrigno poses on couch for photographer at his home 2. SOUNDBITE (English) Lou Ferrigno/Bodybuilder, on hearing about the death of Michael Jackson: "I just got back from Pittsburgh on Sunday. Because I've been devastated about the death. And it's quite a shock because when I heard about him having a cardiac arrest, I thought it was a joke. But then when I heard he passed away, especially at the age of 50 -- Because I saw him a month ago. I'd been training him. I last saw him maybe before he went on the tour, doing autograph shows and everything. The guy looked great. But just to hear this, I would never expect it." 3. I worked on him stretching, all types of different moves. He was energetic. He was happy as he could be, animated." 5. Lou Ferrigno poses on couch for photographer at his home 6. SOUNDBITE (English) Lou Ferrigno/Bodybuilder, on how long he'd known Jackson: "I know everybody says how does the Incredible Hulk train Michael Jackson? We met over 15 years ago. He was a big fan of mine. He loved The Hulk and everything, so I had a doctor friend who was a friend of his. He suggested to Mike to have Lou train you because I have a facility, very private and he thought that I was the best. So Michael came to see me the first time, he had the mask on and came down the driveway and gave me a hug. It wasn't anything staged. It was just like Lou and Michael just hit it off because both of us had similar childhoods. We had strong domineering fathers. And both of us had a lot of pain and anger. We shared that because his escape was music. My escape was bodybuilding and fitness because I had such a passion for fitness. That's how we collaborated because we became almost like kids all over again. He never had a childhood. I really never had a childhood, like social life. My childhood was introverted. Michael was constantly singing, his dad pushing, driving him. He was always like a kid getting whacked around. He never wanted to go back there anymore. Neither did I. So that's why we conveyed our power through music and fitness, both of us, and we became icons in our own way, so we shared that. That was beautiful because of the wonderful friendship. We liked the person inside of us. It was like a real friend." 7. Lou Ferrigno poses on couch for photographer at his home 8. SOUNDBITE (English) Lou Ferrigno/Bodybuilder, on Jackson's health and body: "He's always been lean. He might have been a little heavier 17 years ago, but you got to remember one thing you've got to take into consideration. He's been under tremendous stress: in debt, the ranch, the three kids, they financed the tour. At times in the past, he was supposed to perform, he cancelled, and he had a major lawsuit, but this time he was going to come back and make the biggest comeback in music industry. So it was just tremendous stress. And he's at the age of 50. Besides with me, he was rehearsing like three, four hours a day. It takes a toll on the body." 9.
