Last year, I was cloned. Not by someone I knew, and not as some obvious joke, but by a complete stranger on the internet who used AI to replicate my voice, my face, and the way I present the news. Before long, that turned into a full account called NewsBaby, uploading videos that looked and sounded like me, and reaching millions of views in the process. At the start it felt surreal more than anything else, but as the account grew and more AI clones started appearing, it became clear this wasn’t just a one-off situation. This is something that is becoming easier, faster, and far more accessible than most people realise. So I decided to track him down. This video follows the full journey — from discovering the NewsBaby account, to understanding how an AI clone of NewsDaddy (Dylan Page) was actually being made, all the way through to meeting the person behind it and seeing the entire process with my own eyes. Because this isn’t just about one creator being copied. It raises much bigger questions about AI voice cloning, deepfakes, and what happens when anyone’s identity can be recreated and scaled online without them even knowing. After seeing how it works firsthand, I left with a very different perspective on where this is all heading… and how difficult it might be to stop.
