Former Afghan President Amrullah Saleh has extended Diwali greetings to Indians and Hindus around the world. He also issued a warning for India. Amrullah Saleh is a staunch critic of the jihadist agenda of the Afghan Taliban and the Pakistani military. He served as Vice President in the then Ashraf Ghani government when the Taliban captured Kabul in August 2021. He later joined forces with Ahmad Massoud, an insurgent leader from the anti-Taliban faction. Saleh wrote in a post on Instagram, "Happy Diwali to all Indians and Hindus around the world! Wishing you all good health.
